Lake Montfort School and P.U. College sprouted as a small seed in the year 1998 with 25 students has grown into a big tree during the last 13 years and the present strength is 1379.

We remember the pioneers like Rev. Bro. George Kalangod and Rev. Bro. Augustine Novello with deep gratitude and the trouble taken to purchase the property and build the primary block etc., though they did not enjoy the support and encouragement of the local public. The situation has not much changed at present

Vision and Mission:

Lake Montfort School is part of the large Montfortian family the world-over. Our vision is to give a Holistic Education here which aims at the fullest development of the students bringing to the fore their gifts and talents. They join the adventure of discovery and creative learning. The school instills faith in God, common brotherhood/sisterhood of all, love, quest for truth, freedom, friendship, social justice and reverence for nature. Their education also carries the great responsibility of caring for the less privileged in our society.

1998 - 1999 : Lake Montfort School was opened in 1998 with 25 students from LKG to III Standard.
Rev.Bro.Augustine Novello was the Principal and Rev.Bro.Arokia Raj was the Assistant.
The early admissions took place in a neighbouring house along with 4 members of the staff.

1999 - 2000 : Rev.Bro.Ignatius was the Director from 1999 to 2005. Rev.Bro.Louis was the Principal and Rev.Bro.John David assisted them. More classes were added as the strength increased. The number of the staff increased likewise.

2000 - 2002 : Rev.Bro. P.C. Thomas became the Principal in 2000 and continued till 2004. Rev.Bro.Ignatius was the Director and Rev.Bro.Prabhu joined the community. Rev.Bro.Louis went for higher studies.

He started the house system i.e Montfort , Gabriel, Joseph and Fatima.
The first sports day was conducted.
The school uniform was changed to white & white and blue & cream.
The school song was created and released.
The emblem and motto of Lake Montfort School was introduced.
Class assemblies were started.
To Honour our Lady, a grotto was built.
A new 3 storeyed building was started in 2001 to accommodate more classes.

2002 - 2003 :

In 2002 School Net (ILFS) was introduced to train the staff and students. They conducted "Lesson Making Contest". 130 schools participated and LMS was one among the 10 best schools.
His Excellency Rev. Bro. Ignatius Pinto Arch Bishop of Bangalore blessed the New Building in 2003.
To mark the centenary of the Montfortian presence in India (1903-2003) a pillar was erected on 11th September 2003 called the "Centenary Column."
A programme for slow learners was started.
A Multi-media room and a computer lab was started.

2003 - 2004 : Rev.Bro.P.C.Thomas continues as Principal and Rev.Bro.Ignatius as Director. Rev.Bro.M.P.John joined the community.

2004 - 2005 : Rev.Bro.K.J.Varghese took over as Principal and continues till date. Bro.Ignatius was Director. Rev.Bro.M.P.John was Bursar and continues till date. Rev.Bros. Jenny Kuriokose, Jaison and Bro.Sabu assisted.

Subject wise clubs were formed and departments held competitions from 2004 onwards. The clubs are Vikram Seth English Club, Kabirdas Hindi Club, Kuvempu Kannada Club, Sanskrit and French club, Aryabhatta Maths Club, Amartya Sen Social Club, C.V. Raman Science Club, Prakruthi Eco Club, Rajiv Gandhi Computer Club, Robotics Club, Heritage Club and Fine Arts Club.
House picnics were introduced.
In 2004 the school had only 6 buses but now the number has increased and at present we have 16 of them.

2005 - 2006 : Rev.Bro.Ignatius was transferred and Re.Bro.K.J.Varghese became the Director (Local Superior)and Principal. Rev.Bros Sahai Raj and Pakianathan joined the community.

The growth and achievements in Lake Montfort School are multifaceted.
The play ground was extended and Lamos 2006 took place in the new ground.
A special colourful uniform was made for the day and it has become the uniform of wednessday.
The PF was introduced for teachers.

2006 - 2007 : Rev.Bro.Francis Joined the Community.

State recognition was obtained and the Composite P.U. college was opened.
The main block was extended and completed with new toilets, borewell and over-head tanks.
New Science labs for Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Maths with modern equipments were installed.
The Computer lab was expanded and up-graded with extra facilities.
The school spread its wings, to go overseas and we are very fortunate to have two partner schools in Nottingham, UK. Teachers from India and abroad have been on several visits to widen their global perspective.

2007 - 2008 : Rev.Bro.Arul Das joined the community and Rev.Bro.Sahayaraj was transferred.

Two new basket ball courts were constructed and our assembly ground got a face lift.
The play field was extended to accommodate more sports and games activities like foot ball, volley ball, basket ball, throw ball, cricket, roller skating, athletics, kho-kho, table tennis, yoga and chess.
A modernized multi-gymnasium was set up and more tables were added in the table tennis hall.

2008 - 2009 :Rev.Bros.Arul Das and Jenny Kurio Kose were transferred. Rev.Bros. Christopher and Arul Deeparaj joined the community.

The first original Lake View Montfort School building was renovated with modern facilities to house visitors and more airy classrooms.
The school office and the Principal's office renovation work was completed.
The campus became rejuvenated with new lawns, gardens and a beautiful lotus pond.
The scarcity of water necessitated the creation of a bore-well.
A statue of St. Montfort was placed on the pedestal at the entrance of the school on 31-01-2009.

2009 - 2010 : Rev.Bro.Joseph Thomas and Rev.Bro. Sahayaraj joined the community.

Spiritual Activities continued on a regular basis and Bible quiz and projects were added. Students from classes VIII to PUC attended the "International Youth Retreat" held in the divine centre, Pota, Kerala. Religious activities are supported by the priests from 'Precious Blood' Missionaries, Medahalli, Bangalore.

A huge compound wall was built with two gates and a broad concrete road also for the buses to ply inside the campus.
The frequent power fluctuations necessitated the purchase of two generators for the school.
The newly formed school band makes all school functions and competitions very attractive in their cloured attire.
Modern Technology, Smart Boards were introduced in each of the class rooms.
The 'School Direct' was also introduced.
The Papyrus on-line magazine was initiated for the benefit of the students.
Lake Montfort has introduced Robotics - a future eventuality , the Robotic Age. Teachers are trained to train students in Robotics and they instruct children to assemble and design Robots. We are one of the first three schools in Bangalore to introduce Robotics.
The school has various departments, each with a head to develop skills and talents of students.
A host of opportunities are given to the students and it is up to each one to grab the opportunities as they pass by.
Likewise the students have counselling sessions, seminars, workshops and PowerPoint presentations conducted for all-round development.
Students participate in different inter-school competitions as well.
The number of teaching staff increased to 72.
Throughout the year there were Seminars, refresher courses, workshops and training programmes for the teachers to keep them abreast with the current trends.

2010 - 2011 : Rev.Bros.Sahayaraj and Joseph Thomas were transferred. Rev.Bro.Sebastian Joseph joined the community.

6. Papyrus Club : Social online magazine, test and quiz programmes supported by school direct.
7. IITJEE, AIEEE and other Engineering coaching conducted by T.I.M.E in the campus.
8. Personal counselling: Supported by post-graduate students of Sampurna Montfort College.
9. Spiritual guidance and activities: Supported by Precious Blood Missionaries.
10. Toyoto " Road Safety Training": By ILFS in collaboration with Toyoto Motor Company.

Special Achievements of 2010-11:

ISRO, Bangalore: Water Rocket launch competition - 1st place Srihari s and Vishal V.T.V.
Amritha Engineering College, Bangalore; Quiz competition - 1st place Vishal V.T.V, Srihari S and Jinu M Sunil.
Karnataka Academy of Maths (National Level): Blesson Samuel of class II won the Gold Medal. P, Nikil Benedict of UKG won the Gold Medal, Tarun Parthiban of class I won the Gold Medal.
Karnataka Education Department - Prathiba Karanji - Cultural competitions: Lake Montfort School - Over all champion ship - Taluk Level.
Montfortian Maths Olympiad - By Province of Hyderabad: Master Ayush Puri of Lake Montfort School won the Gold Medal.
Lake Montfort School Music Troupe: Lake Montfort School is one among the four schools selected to represent India in preparation for the London Olympics Anthem 2012. Music troupe released the Music Album "Gone Wrong".
Millennium scholarship examinations - Srihari of class X and Pranav Kumar of UKG have secured the IV rank at the National level. Aysha Mabel of UKG has secured the V rank at the National level.
Chinthana Mathematics Exam: Jacob V Sanoj of class III received the Gold medal at the State level.
Instrumental Music Competition in Bangalore: Vivek V.T.V of class VII B won the First Prize in Tabla.

The Lake Montfort School Hosted:

The Karnataka Pre - University Board, Volley Ball, Foot Ball and Table Tennis Tournaments in which 84 Volley Ball teams; 39 Foot ball teams and 17 Table Tennis teams participated - August 2010. The teams selected and coached by Lake Montfort School were the winners at the Karnataka Pre - University State meet in all the three games during the month of October- 2010.
The CBSE Cluster VII Basket Ball Tournaments for boys and girls [Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka] in October -2010. 61 teams participated.
Bangalore Sahodaya Schools Complex Games and Athletic Meet in November - 2010, 34 Schools participated.

Sports and Games Achievements:

1. Jain International Inter School Games :

Volley Ball - Lake Montfort Boys were the Winners.
Cross Country - Lake Montfort Boys & Girls team - Runner -Up

2. Bangalore Sahodaya Schools Complex Games & Athletic Meet 2010-11:

Volley ball - LMS Boys were Winners.
Foot ball - LMS Boys - Runners-up
Kho-Kho - LMS Girls - Runners-up
Boys under 16 category - Nishchai Leo secured the Individual Champion
LMS Boys & Girls won the Overall Runners-Up Trophy.

3. Karnataka Pre-University Board State Meet at Tumkur:

100 mts. - Gold Medal by Sathya Seelan of I PUC. He set a new record of 10.8 sec.
200 mts. - Gold Medal - Sathya Seelan of I PUC
Individual Championship - Sathya Seelan of I PUC.

4. 26th Junior National Athletic Championship:

100 mts, 200mts - Silver Medal was won by Sathya Seelan.

5. Volley Ball Nationals: Akshay K Pissey of I PUC - Represented Karnataka State Volley ball team at the Nationals in Chennai.

6. State Level Bangalore School Games:

100 mts.- Silver medal was won by Nishchai Leo
400 mts - Silver Medal - Karthick D.V
400 mts. - Gold - Medal Nishchai Leo
800 mts. - Silver Medal - Dhruv Jordan
1500 mts - Gold medal - Dhruv Jordan

7. Bangalore Mid-Night Marathon for Men: Dhruv Jordan won the Gold medal.
